Just a note to let you know that I will be winding up the above 2 entities as of 30/6/2026. The business commenced in mid 1995 and we were very busy for the first 28 years or so. But we have experienced a steady decline over the last 2 - 3 years.
Our road inspection services, which were the main game for us, have just about wound up and I have moved from 5 full time inspectors in the field down to around a single 50% position in recent times. Technology is rapidly changing, and our methodologies no longer appear to meet industry demands.
As far as our software goes I will be making that open source as of 30/6/2026 and I already have several councils interested in taking up our financial modelling package. For those who hold a current software maintenance agreement with us up until June 2026, I will offer software support for the next 2 years at no cost. For others who continue to use our software, but have no current maintenance agreement, I will endeavour to co opt some consultants who are familiar with our systems to assist you on a fee for service basic.
It has been a real honour to have worked with so many diverse councils across Australia over the last 31 years. At our peak we had in excess of 200 councils using elements of our software and I count myself very lucky to have travelled to many of those council districts and learned so much from the wonderful and talented Local Government professionals I encountered.
I will hopefully put up a list of contacts in coming weeks of consultants who are prepared to provide ongoing technical assistance with our software on a fee for service basis.
In the mean time if there are any who read this message and would be interested in providing ongoing support for our software on a fee for service basis I would welcome their contact. The most likely element of our software that will require support is our financial modelling module, which I believe is still a fantastic tool and better and simpler than any other on the market.
